Delaphine "Del" (Plant) Huff was born Aug. 23, 1942, to Joseph and Anne Plant in Emeigh, Pennsylvania. She died June 3, 2023, after a courageous and valiant battle with cancer. She was the devoted military wife of 51 years to Lawrence Huff who resides in Las Vegas NV.
A 1960 graduate of New Castle High, Del retired from CCSD after 20 years of service. She loved to play cards, read and travel.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by her children, Lawrence Jr. (Amy) and Melissa Sipes (Homer); grandchildren Trenton and Tanner Sipes and Hadley Huff; Aunt Toots to many nieces and nephews; and a treasured friend to many. She is also survived by her brother, Gilbert Plant of New Castle along with her family back in Las Vegas.
She was preceded in death by her parents and brother, Joe Plant, of New Castle.
A Blessing Service officiated by Deacon John Carran of Holy Spirit Parish will be held at 1:00 p.m. July 29 at the R. Cunningham Funeral Home, 2429 Wilmington Road, New Castle.
Eternal rest grant unto Delaphine, O Lord. Let perpetual light shine upon her. May her soul, and the souls of all the faithful departed, through the mercy of God, rest in peace. Amen.
