David George Eberlein, age 67, of Bessemer, PA, passed away the morning of Saturday, July 29, 2023, at UPMC Presbyterian Hospital in Pittsburgh. Born May 6, 1956, in Pittsburgh, he was the son of the late John and Ruth (Schnelzer) Eberlein. He is survived by his wife of 37 years, Michell (Wright) Eberlein, whom he married October 5, 1985.
David was both a mechanic and an independent truck driver. Fishing, cars and playing cards were among his varied interests. In addition, he enjoyed watching sci-fi movies and shows and playing Nintendo’s Super Mario Bros 3. He was of Roman Catholic faith.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by two daughters, Marie Ann Eberlein (fiance’ Dylan Edward Shipley) of Bessemer and Danielle Marie (Joshua) Croskey of Beaver Falls; three sisters, Nancy (Joe) Mitchell of Pittsburgh, Marilyn Barsotti and Rose (Joe) Albertson, both of Grove City; one brother, John Eberlein of Harrisville, PA; and soon to be his first grandchild, Baby Shipley.
He was preceded in death by his parents; one sister, Margaret Kraska; and two brothers, Mark Eberlein and Joseph Eberlein.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, August 3, from 3:00 to 6:00 p.m. at the R. Cunningham Funeral Home and Crematory, 2429 Wilmington Road, New Castle. A Blessing Service will take place immediately after the visitation at 6:00 Thursday at the funeral home. Deacon Dr. Joseph Ross from Divine Grace Parish will officiate.
Eternal rest grant unto David, O Lord. Let perpetual light shine upon him. May his soul, and the souls of all the faithful departed, through the mercy of God, rest in peace. Amen.
