Daniel C. Micaletti, 98, of New Castle passed away the morning of July 23, 2022 at his residence. Born on October 15, 1923 in New Castle, Danny was the son of the late Giuseppe and Genevieve Tedesco Micaletti. On November 27, 1952, Danny married his beloved wife, the former Anne DeCesare. She preceded him in death on March 29, 2020.
Danny proudly served his country as a member of the United States Army during World War II. He worked for Mesta Machine Corporation as a machinist until he retired. He was a member of Holy Spirit Parish, St. Vitus site. Danny loved music and playing the guitar. He was a member of the New Castle Area Honor Guard and the VFW Post #315 and American Legion #343. Danny was also a member of the CCC (Civilian Conservation Corp.). A loving father, grandfather and great-grandfather, Danny’s greatest joy was the time he spent with his family, especially his grandchildren and great-grandchildren and his two cats that adored him.
Danny is survived by his two daughters, Denise Carney (Mike) of New Castle and Suzanne Mori of Mars, PA, three grandchildren, Steven Ayers (Mandy), Michael Carney and fiancé, Kelly Zehner and Giovanni Mori, two great-grandchildren, London Ayers and Lola Ayers.
In addition to his parents and wife, Danny was preceded in death by one brother, Guido Micaletti and two sisters, Eleanor Largo and Stella Micaletti.
Visitation will be on Tuesday at 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at the Ed & Don DeCarbo Funeral Home & Crematory, 941 S. Mill St. The New Castle Area Honor Guard will perform Full Military Rites on Wednesday at the funeral home at 10:30 a.m. A procession will leave the funeral home on Wednesday at 10:45 for a Mass of Christian Burial at Holy Spirit Parish, St. Vitus Church at 11:00 a.m. Father Benjamin Barr will officiate. Burial will be in Parkside Cemetery.
Eternal rest grant unto Danny, O Lord. Let perpetual light shine upon him. May his soul, and the souls of all the faithful departed, through the mercy of God, rest in peace. Amen.
