Christine Irene Lutz, 92, of Neshannock Township, passed away the evening of June 27, 2023. Born on February 17, 1931 in New Castle, PA, she was a daughter of the late Gaetano and Lucia Colaiacovo. Christine was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 62 years, Gaylord Lutz, whom she married on January 8, 1954.
Christine moved to California with her husband, Gaylord, where they lived for 35 years and she raised her family. After her husband's retirement, they returned to New Castle. Christine loved to cook and enjoyed entertaining family and friends in her home. She enjoyed visiting her grandchildren in California, trips to Las Vegas, and playing a good game of poker with family and friends.
Christine is survived by her two sons, David Lutz of New Castle, and John Lutz and his wife, Coleen, of Sun Valley, CA; grandchildren, Lauren Elizabeth & Ryan Gaylord; her brother, Harry Colaiacovo and his wife, Joyce; and sister-in-law, Cookie Colaiacovo; and KC Collins, partner of Christine's late daughter, Gaylene.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her daughter, Gaylene Lutz; sisters, Philomena Elisco, Marie Monico, Clara Staph, Helen Amodie; and brother, Benny Colaiacovo.
The family will receive friends Monday, July 17, from 2:00 pm to 3:00 pm at Ed & Don DeCarbo Funeral Home, 3000 Wilmington Road New Castle, PA. A Blessing Service, officiated by Fr. Joseph McCaffrey of Holy Spirit Parish, will be conducted at 3:00 pm at the funeral home. Interment will take place in Castleview Memorial Gardens.
Eternal rest grant unto Christine, O Lord. Let perpetual light shine upon her. May her soul, and the souls of all the faithful departed, through the mercy of God, rest in peace. Amen.
