Charlotte A. Viggiano, 78, of New Castle, passed away the morning of June 22, 2020 at UPMC Jameson. Born on April 5, 1942 in New Castle, she was the daughter of the late Frank (Hubby) Scungio and Alise Staton Scungio. On December 1, 1962, Charlotte married her beloved husband, Victor J. Viggiano. He preceded her in death on October 26, 2017.
In the early years, Charlotte had worked for Shenango China. She later worked as a Nurse at UPMC Farrell and Sharon Regional Hospital.
She was an active member at Holy Spirit Parish, St. Vitus site, where she took part in singing in the choir. Charlotte was an avid golfer. She loved traveling and enjoyed line dancing. A loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother Charlotte’s greatest joy was the time she spent with her family.
Charlotte is survived by her daughters, Traci Martwinski and her husband, Vince, of New Castle, Tammi Windl and her husband, Jay, of New Castle, her brother, Frank Scungio of Savannah, Georgia, four grandchildren, Brittni Bistyga, Brianna Dale, Vincent Pavia and Lauren Pavia, and two great-grandchildren, Christopher and Michael.
Visitation will be on Wednesday, June 24, 9:30 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. at the Ed & Don DeCarbo Funeral Home & Crematory, 941 South Mill St. Visitors are asked to adhere to CDC guide lines with wearing face masks and using social distancing.
A procession will leave the funeral home on Wednesday at 11:15 a.m. for
A Mass of Christian Burial at 11:30 a.m. at Holy Spirit Parish, St. Vitus Church. Father Anthony Sciarappa will officiate. Burial will be in St. Vitus Cemetery.
