Charles W. Bucker, Sr., 88, of New Castle passed away the morning of May 2, 2023 at Sharon Regional Hospital. Born on March 22, 1935 in New Castle, Charles was the son of the late Charles C. and Marie DeBeck Bucker. On February 28, 1960 Charles married his beloved wife, the former Josephine Guerrera. She preceded him in death on September 13, 2016.
A proud veteran of the United States Navy, Charles had driven truck for Preston Trucking until his retirement. He was a member of Holy Spirit Parish, St. Joseph the Worker site. He was also a great outdoorsman and enjoyed going hunting and fishing. A loving father, grandfather and great-grandfather, Charles’ greatest joy was the time he spent with his family.
Charles is survived by his children, Charles Bucker, Jr. (Vickie), Carl Bucker (Renee) and Jo Anne Bucker; one sister, Mary Ann Costello; twelve grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
In addition to his parents and wife, Charles was preceded in death by two daughters, Carolyn Stockman and Phyllis Ango; his brother, Robert Bucker; and his sister, Carol Sanders.
Family will receive friends on Monday 2:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. at the Ed & Don DeCarbo Funeral Home & Crematory, 941 S. Mill St. A Blessing Service will be held on Monday at the funeral home at 3:00 p.m. Father Aaron Kriss of Holy Spirit Parish will officiate. Burial will be in Locust Grove Cemetery.
Eternal rest grant unto Charles, O Lord. Let perpetual light shine upon him. May his soul, and the souls of all the faithful departed, through the mercy of God, rest in peace. Amen.
