Carolyn Ann Glorioso, 97, formerly of Shenango Township, passed away the evening of July 9, 2021 at Jameson Care Center. Born on May 28, 1924 in New Castle, she was the daughter of the late George and Sadie Cialella Caffro. On July 19, 1947, Carolyn married her beloved husband, Joseph J. Glorioso. He preceded her in death on January 30, 2018.
In the early years, Carolyn volunteered as a Girl Scout Leader and taught swimming lessons at Cascade Park. She had also worked at Sylvesters Dairy. She enjoyed cooking and entertaining. Her door was always open to family and friends. A loving mother, grandmother and great grandmother, Carolyn’s greatest joy was the time she spent with her family. She was a member of Holy Spirit Parish, St. Vitus Site.
Carolyn is survived by her daughters, Karen Esposito and her husband, Ron, of New Castle; Karole Vanasco and her husband, David, of New Castle; Patty Jeffords and her husband, Jeff, of Tampa, FL; Lee Ann Wawrzynski and her husband, Dr. Paul Wawrzynski, of New Castle; and her son-in-law, Andrew Esposito, Jr., of New Castle, thirteen grandchildren and fifteen great-grandchildren.
In addition to her parents and husband, Carolyn was preceded in death by her daughter, JoAnn Esposito, three brothers, Frank Caffro, Sr., Richard Caffro and George Caffro and one sister, Mary Castaldi.
Visitation will be on Monday 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. at the Ed & Don DeCarbo Funeral Home & Crematory, 941 South Mill St. A Blessing Service will be held on Monday at the funeral home at 4:00 p.m. Deacon John Carran of Holy Spirit Parish will officiate.
Entombment will be in Castleview Memorial Gardens.
Give Carolyn eternal rest, O Lord, and may your light shine on her forever. Let us find in your Son comfort for our sadness, certainty in our doubt, and courage to live through this hour. Make our faith strong through Christ our Lord. Amen.
