Carmelinda C. "Carmie" Napadano

May 30, 1926 to July 29, 2020

Carmelinda “Carmie” Napadano, 94, passed away the afternoon of July 29, 2020 at her residence in New Castle. Born in New Castle on May 30, 1926, Carmie was the daughter of the late Sam and Anna Gentile Champ. She is survived by her devoted husband of over seventy one years, Nick Napadano whom she married on August 7, 1948.

Carmie was a member of Holy Spirit Parish, St. Mary’s site. She enjoyed baking and cooking. Carmie was a loving wife, mother and grandmother who took pride in caring for her family. Above all else, Carmie cherished the times spent with her family.

In addition to her husband, Carmie is survived by her children, Patty Terrigino and her husband, Mike, of Hilton, N.Y., Dave Napadano and his wife, Linda, of Philadelphia, Dan Napadano and his wife, Jan, of New Castle; her sisters, Shirley L. Kirkwood, Geri (Bob) Tyma, Trudy Catale, all of New Castle; her grandchildren, David Napadano, Jason Terrigino, Amanda Gorman and four great grandchildren.

She is preceded in death by her parents, sisters, Delores Hammond, Loretta Mowry, Anna Suzow, Josephine Guido and two infant brothers.

Due to the current health situation a private visitation will be held for the family at the Ed and Don DeCarbo Funeral Home and Crematory 941 S. Mill St. A private Mass of Christian Burial will be held at Holy Spirit Parish, St. Vitus Church officiated by Rev. Father Brendan Dawson. Entombment will take place at Parkside Cemetery and Mausoleum.

Lord God, you are attentive to the voice of our pleading. Give Carmie eternal rest, O Lord, and may your light shine on her forever. Let us find in your Son comfort in our sadness, certainty in our doubt, and courage to live through this hour. Make our faith strong through Christ our Lord.  Amen.
