Bonnie was born on November 11, 1929 in New Castle, the only child of William Mackaboy English and Mildred Elizabeth Cameron. Both of Bonnie’s parents died at a young age due to TB, leaving Bonnie to be cared for by many different families during her childhood. Margaret Cameron Conti, a maternal aunt, ultimately became a mother figure to Bonnie and the two lived as mother and daughter from then on.
Bonnie graduated from New Castle High School in 1948 and worked for Bell Telephone before marrying the love of her life, Reg Murphy, on February 3, 1951. They were married for 59 years. She was also a member of St. Camillus Catholic Church.
Bonnie was a wonderful, kind and loving wife, mother and friend. So many of her best memories were from the time she spent with family and friends, especially “the gang” from New Castle. We are so thankful that she was able to spend her last Christmas surrounded by family, both in person or via Zoom. She was loved by so many.
Bonnie is survived by her four children: Tom Murphy and Rita of Houston, Texas; Diane Murphy Kinney and Ron of Beavercreek, Ohio; Susan Murphy Baker of Struthers, Ohio, and Gary Murphy and Keira of Vero Beach, Florida, as well as a son-in-law, Jeff Baker. She loved each of her grandchildren mightily. They are: Stephen Murphy, Brenna Murphy, Kaitlin Kinney, Maggie Kinney, Emily Baker, Jeffrey “JT” (Anna) Baker, Sara Baker, Matthew Murphy, Kevin Murphy, Liam Murphy and Inna Kleyman. She also adored her great-grandsons, Isaac Baker, Ian Baker, August Baker and Aiden Kleyman. Life-long friends Bob McClintock, Mary Lou Hannon and Rosemarie Panella Andrews will miss her greatly.
Bonnie is preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Reg, in 2010, a granddaughter, Jessica Leigh Kinney, in 1983, and several dear friends, including: Chuckie Andrews, Tommy Hannon, Russell and Dee Capitola, Wayne and Betty Jean Yoho and JoAnn McClintock.
