Services were held April 5, 2023, for Betty Isaac, 100, affectionately known as "Honeybee Bumble" the clown, who passed March 30, 2023. Betty was born Oct. 5, 1922, in St. Louis, Missouri, to Clyde and Mildred (Trost) Sims. She married Edwin R. Isaac on Feb. 10, 1944. Ed died in 1998.
While raising her children, Betty maintained a 300-customer Youngstown Vindicator paper route. She was a member of St. James the Apostle, now part of Holy Spirit Parish, and its Christian Women's Organization. She bowled in DeCarbo's Seniors League at Colonial Lanes for many years to age 95, as well as in other leagues over the years both in Ohio and Pennsylvania.
In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her sister, Dorothy Jean Clogston; daughter-in-law, Tammy; son-in-law Joel Magee; and granddaughter, Catherine Isaac.
Together, Betty and Edwin had 14 children, Gerald (Gwen) of Pulaski, Dr. Marie Zitello of Pulaski, Judy (Rick) Heinz of Bristolville, Ohio, Martin (Mary Ann) of Edinburg, John (Patty) of Bethel, Ohio, Joseph (Bonnie) of Pulaski, Mildred (Gary) Laslow of Brookville, Margaret Magee of Greenville, Michael (Kathy) of Hillsville, Christopher (Mona) of Vienna, Virginia, Paul of Bessemer, Walter of Pulaski, Mary Germaine (David Bechtel) of Knoxville, Tennessee, and Mary Catherine (David) Claxton of Brookfield, Connecticut. She leaves 38 grandchildren, 44 great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren.
A Mass of Christian Burial at St. Vitus Church was conducted by Fr. Aaron Kriss of Holy Spirit Parish on April 5, 2023. Burial was in St James Cemetery at Villa Maria, Pennsylvania. Arrangements were handled by Noga Funeral Home Inc, 1142 S. Mill St. New Castle PA.
Eternal rest grant unto Betty, O Lord. Let perpetual light shine upon her. May her soul, and the souls of all the faithful departed, through the mercy of God, rest in peace. Amen.
