Betty Louise Steve, 92, Grove City formerly of Volant, passed away at Grove Manor Nursing Home, Grove City on May 30, 2023. She was born in Youngstown, Ohio, a daughter of the late Guy Oscar Mason and Elizabeth Houston Mason. She married Fred Steve, August 12, 1951 and he preceded her in death, April 11, 2014.
Betty was a 1950 graduate of Wilmington High School and years ago worked as a telephone operator for Bell Telephone. Living in Grove City with her daughter, Denise Armstrong, Betty loved life. She enjoyed spending time and reminiscing with family and friends. She had worked at various shops in Volant and enjoyed sharing the history of the town.
In addition to her daughter, survivors include a son, Daryl Steve of Brookshire, Texas; four grandchildren, Megan (Chris) Hepler Ropchack, Alison (Keith) Hepler Brandstedter, Josh (Jennie) Armstrong and Seth Armstrong; and eight great-grandchildren, one nephew, and five nieces complete the family.
There will be a celebration of life Blessing Service on Saturday, August 19, 2023, at Smith Funeral Home in Leesburg, 1778 Perry Highway, Volant, Pennsylvania. Visitation at the funeral home will be from noon until the Blessing Service at 1:00 p.m. Deacon John Carran of Holy Spirit Parish will officiate the service.
Eternal rest grant unto Betty, O Lord. Let perpetual light shine upon her. May her soul, and the souls of all the faithful departed, through the mercy of God, rest in peace. Amen.
