Bernard L. Hartle “Bernie”, 70, of New Castle, passed away December 24, 2021 at UPMC Presbyterian Hospital. Born on October 21, 1951 in Butler, PA., Bernie was the son of the late Frank and Dorothy Lewis Hartle. Surviving at home is his loving wife of over forty-three years, the former Donna Pacillo, whom he married on October 7, 1978.
Bernie had worked at Shenango Refractories as a Lathe Machine Operator. He enjoyed fishing, visiting casinos, and gardening. Bernie was an avid Pittsburgh Steeler’s fan and could repair anything that was broken. Most importantly he cherished spending time his family, who meant the world to him.
In addition to his wife, Bernie is survived by his children, Valerie (Mike) Gourley, Casey (Justin) Harding, Dustin Hartle, all of New Castle; his brothers, Frank (Tracie) Hartle, Gary (Jodi) Hartle, all of New Castle; his sisters, Betty Byers, Beverly (Ellis) Metzgar, Judy Metzgar, Linda (Greg) Waddington, Sherry (Rich) Michaels, and his grandson, Owen Gourley.
He is preceded in death by his parents and his sisters, Bonnie Ray, Bernice Iorio, Barb Campbell and Sandy Hartle.
Visitation is Tuesday from 4:00 pm to 7:00 pm at the Ed and Don DeCarbo Funeral Home 3000 Wilmington Rd. followed by a service at 7:00 pm conducted by Pastor Rebecca Rosengarth. Burial will take place at St. Lawrence Cemetery.
Eternal rest grant unto Bernie, O Lord. Let perpetual light shine upon him. May his soul, and the souls of all the faithful departed, through the mercy of God, rest in peace. Amen.
