Berenice C. Polansky, 98, of 721 W. Mulberry St., Angleton, Texas, passed away the morning of June 24, 2022, at Country Village Care, Angleton, Texas. Berenice was born on Sept. 2, 1923, in New Castle, the daughter of the late Josef and Anne Magusiak Cwynar. She was married to the late Chester A. Polansky. He preceded her in death on May 24, 2005. They were married for 56 years.
Berenice was a graduate of New Castle High School, class of 1941. Mrs. Polansky was a former member of Holy Spirit Parish, St. Joseph the Worker site in New Castle and a longtime member of the church choir. She enjoyed music, gardening and spending time with her family and friends, especially her grandchildren.
Berenice is survived by her two daughters, Mary Beth Chiarini of New Castle; Christine Polansky and son-in-law, Philip Rudolf, of Brazoria, Texas; and three grandchildren, Dustin Chiarini, Michael Rudolf and Jennifer Rudolf.
In addition to her parents and husband, Chester, Berenice was preceded in death by three brothers, Walt Cwynar, William (Bill) Cwynar and John Cwynar; and three sisters, Stella Lesniak, Francis Hink and Helen Hink.
Visitation will be held from 10:00 to 11:30 a.m. on Thursday, June 30, 2022, at the Noga Funeral Home Inc. 1142 Mill St., New Castle. A procession will leave the funeral home at 11:30 a.m. on Thursday, June 30, 2022, for Holy Spirit Parish, St. Camillus site. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated by Fr. Ben Barr of Holy Spirit Parish at noon in St. Camillus Church. Burial will be in SS Philip and James Cemetery.
Eternal rest grant unto Berenice, O Lord. Let perpetual light shine upon her. May her soul, and the souls of all the faithful departed, through the mercy of God, rest in peace. Amen.
