Audrey D. Pearson, 70, of Butler passed away Tuesday, Dec. 8, 2020, at Butler Memorial Hospital following a two-week illness. Born on July 21, 1950, in Youngstown, she was the daughter of the late Joseph S. and Stella A. Yousko Tekac. She was married to Wayne Pearson, who passed in 2008.
Audrey ran a snack bar at the Smith Grove Camp Ground, where she was affectionately known as the "Candy Lady." Her favorite moments were spent with her family and her dog, Brutus.
Survivors include her sister, Kathy Dando of New Castle; her companion of 11 years, Michael Schoedel of Butler, and his children, Michael (Yvette) Schoedel of Chicora, Paul (Karen) Schoedel of Bismarck, North Dakota, Duane (Crystal) Schoedel of Smithton and Cheryl (Tony) Bayt of Munhall; a niece, Shannon (Dave) Colamarino of Apollo; two great-nephews, Luca and Samuel Colamarino; nine grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
A graveside blessing service officiated by Seminarian Merv Knieriem of Holy Spirit Parish will be held at the Graceland Cemetery at 1 p.m. on Dec. 14, 2020. Interment will follow in Graceland Cemetery. Arrangements have been entrusted to the Marshall Funeral Home, Wampum.
Lord God, you are attentive to the voice of our pleading. Give Audrey eternal rest, O Lord, and may your light shine on her forever. Let us find in your Son comfort in our sadness, certainty in our doubt, and courage to live through this hour. Make our faith strong through Christ our Lord. Amen.
