A huge thank you to all of you who take your faith so seriously and have diligently been putting your faith into action. By this, I mean all of our wonderful volunteers, especially those who help with outreach through our Social Ministries: Angel Trees, Bereavement, Calls to the Bereaved, Journeying Through Grief, Grief Support, Charity Baby Shower, Greeting Card Ministry, Food Pantry, Connections, Illumin8, Blankets for Confirmation, Rosary Crafting, Stitching Angels, Easter Baskets for Catholic Charities, Our Hearts to Your Soles, Phone Ministry, Prayer Network, Soup Ministry, St. Vincent De Paul Society, the Knights of Columbus, Men of Faith and Women of Faith.
Some of you are the very same volunteers who also give countless hours of your time for our parish fundraising. This, in itself, is an outreach not just to keep our parish financially stable but also by providing food and social time for many people in our community. This is also a very important gift to everyone. Our major fundraisers during the Lenten season are our Fish Fry Lunches and Dinners, Easter Bread, and the Easterfest.
Our Holy Spirit Parish Easterfest will be held April 9th, in the Parish Center at 117 N. Beaver St., New Castle, PA, from 9:00 am to 2:00 pm. Come for our great food. You can eat in or take it home. Choose from Pierogies, Cabbage Rolls, Haluski, Stuffed Shells, Kielbassa, Soups, Nut Rolls, Pies Whole or by the Slice, Rice Pie, Cinnamon Rolls, Easter Bread, Butter Lambs and More!
There is also Easter Basket Shopping: Palm Crosses, Easter & Spring Decor, Chocolates, Cookies & Candy. A Basket Raffle and a 50/50 Raffle! New this year: Children's Activities! Photos with the Easter Bunny, Coloring Easter Eggs, an Easter Egg Hunt, The Easter Story & Making Resurrection Bread.
Thank you to all of you who baked bread, made palm crosses and have worked so hard to provide another very beautiful opportunity for us to celebrate Easter and to enrich one another with your gifts and talents and presence. Of course, all of this leads up to our worship of the Lord through the Holy Eucharist and especially the Triduum.
