Christ is risen! He has indeed risen!May all of you be filled with Easter peace and joy! No matter what our trials and tribulations, for all of us who believe in the resurrected Christ, we have a reason to rejoice. We know that our Savior lives. Because He lives, so do all of our loved ones who have passed from this life to eternity! God has extended to all of humanity the possibility of the forgiveness of our sins and the gift of eternal life.
Daily we are bombarded by media hype and tragic news in a secular world that fails to see beyond the veil of the material world. But for those who have the eyes of faith, we can believe, live, and proclaim the Good News of Jesus Christ. As you gather with your families this Easter weekend, instead of talking about the trials and tribulations of the latest news story, gas prices, wars, political debates and the deplorable condition of so many topics that fill social media outlets, let us discuss the joys of our faith. Let us remind family members, one another, and especially ourselves that we have a reason to rejoice. We have a reason for confidence, hope, and joy. We know that our Savior lives and we will live through Him for all eternity.
A huge thank you to everyone who helped in any way with our sacred liturgies this Holy Week and Easter. I personally wish to thank our pastoral staff: Fr. Brendan Dawson, Fr. Ben Barr, Deacon John Carran, Deacon Dan Kielar, and Sr. Annie Bremmer. Please keep Deacon Dan in your prayers as he has been struggling with some health issues.
Thank you to all of our lay staff, in a special way to our maintenance staff, and all of our countless volunteers who have assisted in our liturgies, music ministers: cantors, choirs, bells, musicians; altar servers, lectors, Eucharistic ministers, ushers, greeters, sacristans, and those who worked behind the scenes arranging the special appearance of our churches for Lent, Palm Sunday, Holy Thursday, Good Friday, Holy Saturday and Easter.
May the Risen Christ embrace you with tender love and happiness, now, and throughout the Easter season. God love you,
