Ann M. Nickum, 92, of Estero, FL passed away Friday, September 27, 2019 at Life Care Center of Estero. A lifelong resident of New Castle, PA she had been a resident of Estero for the past two years. Ann was born August 9, 1927 in New Castle, PA a daughter of the late Gabriel and Josephine (Carvella) Zingaro.
She was a graduate of New Castle High School and earned her LPN Certificate at New Castle Vo-Tech School. Her career was spent working 30 years for the New Castle Meat Packing Company, many years in New Castle School System and most recent at First National Bank in New Castle. In New Castle, she was a member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles and a faithful parishioner at St. Vitus Catholic Church. Ann enjoyed dancing and spending time with her family.
Survivors include her loving daughter, Joanne (John) Masters of Estero, FL; son-in-law, Robert Rich, of New Castle, PA; brothers, Sam (Connie) Zingaro of New Castle, PA; Al (Janice) Zingaro of Estero, FL; sister, Louise Conti of Naples, FL; Yolanda (Harry Sr.) Tanner of Wellington, FL; grandchildren, Anthony Masters, Joanna Rich and Jonalynn (Natosha) Masters; and great granddaughter, Sophia Rich.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Robert L. Nickum; daughter, Mary Ann Rich; and sister, Helen Fisher, and longtime companion, Jimmy Perrett.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday, October 12, 2019 at 12:00 p.m, (noon) at Our Lady of Light Catholic Community, 19680 Cypress View Drive, Fort Myers, FL 33967. A Memorial Mass will be held in New Castle, PA on Saturday, November 2, 2019 at 9:30 a.m. at St. Mary Church of Holy Spirit Parish. Father Victor Molka, Jr. will officiate.
Entombment will be in Parkside Cemetery and Mausoleum. In lieu of flowers and in honor of her daughter, memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society, P.O.
