Ann E. Troggio, 93, of New Castle passed away the evening of March 3, 2021, at Clen Moore Place. Born on Sept. 18, 1927, she was the daughter of Michael Keyso and Barbara (Janovick) Keyso. Ann was married to Lee Troggio for 50 years. Ann and Lee Troggio were married on June 17,1950. He preceded her in death on May 4, 2000. Ann attended St. Michael's Elementary School and graduated from New Castle High School, after which she worked at Shenango Pottery. She was often alongside her husband as a hostess at Troggio's Restaurant. She was a devout Catholic and was a member of St. Joseph the Worker Church.
Ann grew up on Balph Avenue in the neighborhood locally referred to as "Sheep Hill." She was bilingual (fluent in Slovak and English) and loved to reminisce about growing up in a diverse eastern European community. Her favorite pastimes where shopping, especially for shoes, and dining out. She loved animals and had a special bond with her two kitties, Mimi and Sassy.
Ann is survived by two daughters, Leigh Ann Troggio (husband, Dr. Kevin Rote) of Lake Stevens, Washington, and Tracey Audia (partner, Sam Lombaiso) of New Castle; and four grandchildren, Morgan Rote and Griffin Rote of Lake Stevens, Washington, and Brian Audia and Samantha Lombaiso of New Castle.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband and beloved twin sister, Agnes Smith, who recently passed away on Feb 1, 2021.
In keeping with her wishes, there will be no visitation. A private service will be held for the family at their convenience. Arrangements have been entrusted to the Noga Funeral Home Inc., 1142 S. Mill St., New Castle. Burial will be at St. Vitus Cemetery.
