Angeline Sylvia DeGaton, 85, of State Road in Hickory Township died Monday, May 15, 2023, at Avalon Nursing Home. She was born in New Castle on August 4, 1937, a daughter of the late Filex and Nora (Bucci) Deli. She was married to Donald DeWayne DeGaton Sr who survives in New Castle.
Mrs. DeGaton was a member of Holy Spirit Parish, St. Mary and St. Joseph sites. She enjoyed cooking, reading, painting landscapes and still life, gardening, sewing, and decorating for holidays. She especially loved watching all of her grandchildren in all their school activities and sports.
In addition to her husband, she is also survived by four children, Donald D. DeGaton, Jr., Michelle M. Lepisto and fiancé, Roy Rrosser, DeWayne D. DeGaton and fiancé, Lauren Purdy, and Kim Marie Ferrari and husband, Chuck, all of New Castle; one great-grandson that Angeline and Donald raised since birth, Kobe DeRosa; one brother, John Deli; seven grandchildren, and eight great-grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by, one brother, Carmen Deli; four sisters, Sara Barbato, Pearl Palmer, Clara Lambasio, and Donna Alusia; and one granddaughter, Alicia DeRosa.
Private services officiated by Seminarian Dan Roberts of Holy Spirit Parish will be held at the William F. & Roger M. DeCarbo Funeral Home, 926 Cunningham Avenue.
Eternal rest grant unto Angeline, O Lord. Let perpetual light shine upon her. May her soul, and the souls of all the faithful departed, through the mercy of God, rest in peace. Amen.
