Angela C. Simone Ferraro, 89, passed away Friday, March 8, 2024. She was born March 11, 1934, in Steubenville, the daughter of the late Frank and Julia Carapellotti Simone. Angela married Michael C. Ferraro on July 23, 1955; he preceded her in death on Nov. 2, 2023.
Angela was a graduate of Catholic Central High School in Steubenville. After graduation, she became the first x-ray student to enroll in the school of radiology at Ohio Valley Hospital in Steubenville. She worked as a technician for various doctors in the New Castle area. She then became the office manager for Dr. David Reed in Boardman until her retirement. After retiring, she worked for the Bessemer Public Library and was highly active in the Bessemer community as chair of the beautification committee.
Angela was strong and active in her Catholic faith. She attended Holy Spirit Parish, former St. Anthony Church, where she was very active. She taught CCD classes for 50 years, served as president of Christian mothers, volunteered as a sacristan and sang in the church choir.
Angela is survived by her daughter, Milissa (Jim) Gahagan of Boardman; sons, Michael Jr. (Barby Jane) Ferraro of New Castle, Mark (Susie) Ferraro of Kennett Square, Pa. and Mathew (Kathy) Ferraro of Bessemer, Pa.; three grandchildren, Isabella, Olivia and Sophia Ferraro; and brother, Michael (Bonnie) Simone of Mt. Jackson, Pa.
In addition to her parents and husband, Angela was preceded in death by her siblings, Paul T. Simone and Rosalind Simone Ortega.
Calling hours will be held 4:00 to 6:00 p.m. Tuesday, March 12, 2024, at Higgins-Reardon Funeral Homes, Poland Chapel, 2726 Center Road. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, March 13, 2024, at St. Paul the Apostle Church in New Middletown, with the Rev. Joseph McCaffrey officiating. Interment will follow in St. Anthony Cemetery in Bessemer, Pa.

Eternal rest grant unto Marjorie, O Lord. Let perpetual light shine upon her. May her soul, and the souls of all the faithful departed, through the mercy of God, rest in peace. Amen.
