Andrew P. Klatka, 79, of Shenango Township, New Castle, passed away the afternoon of March 11, 2022, at UPMC Jameson Hospital. Andrew was born on April 16, 1942, in New Castle, the son of the late Andrew T. and Jennie (Sroczynski) Klatka. Andrew married the former Kathleen E. Klish who survives at home. They were married for 17 years.
Mr. Klatka is Roman Catholic and attended Holy Spirit Parish, St. Vincent de Paul site. He attended Youngstown State University for two years, majoring in education. Andrew retired after 30 years of service as a meat packer at Castle Brand Meat Packing Company. Andrew was an avid Pittsburgh Steelers, Pittsburgh Pirates and local high school football fan. He loved spending time outdoors, hunting and fishing. His greatest joy was spending time with his family and friends, especially his grandchildren.
In addition to his wife, Kathleen, Andrew is survived by three stepsons, John E. (fiancee Tammy Zeronas) Alfano of New Castle, Grant C. Alfano of New Castle and Justin T. Alfano of Los Angeles, California ; eight step-grandchildren; and six step-great-grandchildren.
Mr. Klatka was preceded in death by his parents; father-in-law, Edward Klish; and niece, Amy Ross.
Visitation will be held from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday, March 15, 2022, at the Noga Funeral Home Inc., 1142 Mill St., New Castle. A Blessing Service will be celebrated immediately following visitation at 4 p.m. at Noga Funeral Home. Fr. Rev. Ben Barr of Holy Spirit Parish will officiate. Interment will be in Parkside Mausoleum.
Eternal rest grant unto Andrew, O Lord. Let perpetual light shine upon him. May his soul, and the souls of all the faithful departed, through the mercy of God, rest in peace. Amen.
