Alice Dudash, 88, of Edinburg, passed away peacefully the afternoon of Sept. 22, 2021, following a short stay at the Haven Convalescent Home. Alice was born on July 17, 1933, in Braddock, Pennsylvania She was the daughter of the late Daniel and Mary (Vargesko) Nagy. Alice was married to the late Elmer F. Dudash. He preceded her in death on Aug. 29, 2011. They were married for 58 years.
Mrs. Dudash was of the Roman Catholic faith and attended Holy Spirit Parish. She was a graduate of Shenango High School, class of 1951. Mrs. Dudash worked in the payroll department at the former First Seneca Bank and was a former employee of St. Francis Hospital. Upon retirement, she continued working at the Walmart Supercenter here in New Castle as a door greeter. Alice enjoyed gardening and sewing. Alice enjoyed spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Alice is survived by her son, Timothy F. (Jody) Dudash of New Castle; two brothers, Daniel Nagy and William (Ed) Nagy, both of New Castle; sister, Linda (Gary) Harvey of New Castle; daughter-in-law, Marty (Dudash) Sheridan of Edinburg; four grandchildren, Alicia (Victor) Laurenza of Cheswick, Pennsylvania, Danielle M. (Zachary) Clouse of Bowling Green, Kentucky, Kristen M. Dudash of New Castle and Timothy R. Dudash of New Castle; and five great-grandchildren, Sophia Laurenza, Nico Laurenza, Jacob Clouse, Easton Clouse and Adalyn Dudash.
In addition to her parents and husband, Elmer, Alice was preceded in death by her son, Larry Dudash; brother, Arthur Francis Nagy; and sister, Mary Jane Kulnis.
Visitation will be held from 5 to 8 p.m. on Sunday, Sept. 26, 2021, at the Noga Funeral Home Inc., 1142 Mill St., New Castle. The family recommends that all visitors wear masks during visitation and service. A procession will leave the funeral home at 10 a.m. on Monday, Sept. 27, 2021, for a Mass of Christian Burial at Holy Spirit Parish, St. Camillus Church to be celebrated at 10:30 a.m. Rev. Brendan Dawson, parochial vicar of Holy Spirit Parish, will officiate. Rite of Committal will be at SS. Philip and James Cemetery.
