Agnes A. Masucci, 80, formerly of New Castle, passed away the afternoon of December 11, 2021 in Monroe, North Carolina. Agnes was born on July 16, 1941 in New Castle to the late Michael C. and Philomena “Fannie” Manto Rozak. Agnes was married to her beloved husband, Frank J. Masucci, Jr. He preceded her in death on March 17, 2020.
As a young Air Force spouse, Agnes embraced her adventurous side, traveling Europe with Frank on deployment in Spain, and delivering their first son, Jeffrey, at a Red Cross Hospital. Returning to the states, Agnes and Frank settled in Biloxi, Mississippi where their second son, Frank, was born, and she worked for Bell South as an operator. Agnes enjoyed her travels, but her heart was always in New Castle where she would return during Frank’s deployments and permanently later in life.
Agnes was a very fun loving, giving and caring person. Everybody knew “Aggie”. She was involved with many social groups including her volunteer friends from Jameson Hospital, her friends from the Polish Falcons, her high school group, her friends from Ohio and PA Bell Telephone as well as her Home Street crowd. She was a founding member of the Home Street Reunion committee which she was very proud of and where she loved to see old friends and acquaintances. Agnes often went to the casinos with her friends where they had a great time. She always enjoyed talking to people and made friends out of strangers wherever she went. Most of all she was a loving wife, mother and grandmother and cherished her family and friends above all else.
Agnes is survived by her children, Jeff Masucci (Desty) and Frank Masucci (Leslie), two brothers, Richard Rozak (Ruth) and Charles Rozak (Ellen) and five grandchildren, Jeffrey, Erin, Ashley, Dylan and Jeremy.
Visitation will be on Thursday 9:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. at the Ed & Don DeCarbo Funeral Home & Crematory, 941 South Mill St. A procession will leave the funeral home on Thursday at 11:30 a.m. for a Mass of Christian Burial at 12:00 p.m. at Holy Spirit Parish, St. Camillus Church. Eternal rest grant unto Agnes, O Lord. Let perpetual light shine upon her. May her soul, and the souls of all the faithful departed, through the mercy of God, rest in peace. Amen.
