On Wednesday, November 4, the Perpetual Adoration Chapel of Holy Spirit Parish located at St. Mary’s will reopen from 8:00 am to 4:00 pm. The Chapel has been closed for several months to undergo renovations. During that time, Adoration was available from the lower parking lot of St. Joseph the Worker. The last day for Adoration at St. Joseph’s will be Sunday, November 1.
The renovations at the Adoration Chapel included new flooring. The flooring was also put in the entrance, hallway, and the restroom. The brick wall in the Chapel was professionally cleaned which improved its presentation. Cracks in the plaster of the walls in the entrance area and hallway were repaired. All the walls have a fresh coat of paint.
For the comfort of parishioners, the pews were replaced with new chairs. These chairs are padded and will have kneelers on them. 12 new chairs have been ordered to start. The chairs will be spaced 6 feet apart in order to comply with the social distancing requirements.
Since the new chairs will not arrive prior to the re-opening, some chairs which do not have kneelers have been borrowed from another location. In his bulletin message, November 1, Deacon John Carran concluded, “This will be a bright and beautiful space for us to come and sit at the feet of the Lord for many years to come.” Please consider signing up to Adore for one hour a week.
