Stella D. Bruno, 89, of 513 Smithfield St., New Castle, passed away on Nov. 12, 2020, at her residence. Stella was born on Dec. 30, 1930, in New Castle. She was the daughter of the late Jakub and Agnes (Glazer) Bistyga. She was married to the late Rudolph A. Bruno. He preceded her in death on March 15, 2019. They were married for 65 years.
Stella was of the Roman Catholic faith and attended Holy Spirit Parish-Mary, Mother of Hope site. . Stella was a member of the Ladies Guild of the former Madonna Church. Stella was a graduate of Union High School, class of 1948. She worked as a clerk at Country House Christmas Shop in New Wilmington, finally retiring from Lynn's Hallmark Card Shop. She enjoyed doing many different crafts and Faberge Eggs. Her greatest joy was spending time with her family and friends, especially her grandchildren.
Stella is survived by four children, Janet (Jeff) Dennis of New Castle, Carole (Stanley) Misiuda of Monaca, Ronald (Stephanie) Bruno of Pittsburgh and Laurie Bruno of New Castle; six grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
In addition to her parents and husband, Rudolph, Stella was preceded in death by two brothers, Walter and Edward Bistyga; and six half-brothers and half-sisters.
Private visitation for family and friends will be held on Sunday, Nov. 15, 2020, from 1 to 2:30 p.m. at the Noga Funeral Home Inc., 1142 Mill St., New Castle. A Blessing Service will be conducted immediately following visitation at the funeral home. Seminarian Merv Knieriem of Holy Spirit Parish will officiate. Burial will be in Madonna Cemetery.
