On October 25, 2020, Patricia Marie Grimm (Patti) passed away peacefully at Melech Hospice House in Tampa, FL after a courageous year-long battle with cancer. Patti was born March 17, 1935 and is pre-deceased by her father and mother, Anthony Spinelli and Mary (Rozzi) Spinelli Ross of New Castle, PA where she was born and raised.
Patti graduated from New Castle High School and attended the Jameson Hospital School of Nursing before dedicating her life to family. Patti lived in New Castle until 2018 when she moved to Melbourne, FL to be closer to her son John and his family. While in New Castle, she was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church, St. Vitus Catholic Church and enjoyed friends and activities at Challenges Community Center.
Patti kept her loved ones balanced, steady and strong, selflessly and patiently acting as family head chef (with recipes flowing through the generations), counselor, arbitrator, and caregiver. Patti declared there would be sauce on Sundays, and four cookies was the perfect portion. She was accepting, non-judgmental, and never too busy to listen or help – her entire family will forever be the better for it.
Also preceding her in death are her husband, John Grimm (Jack), sister Rosemarie Masone Lamont, and brother Anthony Spinelli (Butch). Patti is survived by her son John Grimm and wife, Debra, son Bryan Grimm and wife, Mary, brother Ronald Ross and wife, Delia, sister Francine Spinelli, grandchildren Johnny Grimm, Kara Freeh and Jessica Grimm, great grandchildren Bryan, Rome, Maison, Eleni and Jamie, nieces Rochelle Shaftic, Lisa Spinelli, and Lisa Constiance, and nephews Tony Paladino and John Constiance.
Patti will be laid to rest next to Jack at Castleview Memorial Gardens in New Castle. There will be no immediate service; however, her sons will host a memorial in 2021. Arrangements have been entrusted to the Ed & Don DeCarbo Funeral Home & Crematory, 941 South Mill St. New Castle, Pa.
