Mary Estelle Lynch

Mary Estelle Lynch, 83, passed away August 28, 2019 in Oxford, Florida. Born in New Castle on April 20, 1936, Mary was the daughter of the late Chester Leroy and Geraldine Smiley. Preceding her in death on April 25, 2014 is her husband Francis William Lynch whom she married on April 23, 1960.

Mary retired after working for forty years as a registered nurse. She traveled extensively throughout the world and her favorite trip was a safari in Africa. Mary was known as a wonderful cook. She also sang in the St. Marks the Evangelist Church choir at The Villages, Fl. Mary was a loving, generous and kind person who will be sadly missed by all her family and friends.

Mary is survived by her daughter, Laura Lynch of Huntersville, N.C., sons, Timothy Lynch of Townsend, VT, William Lynch of Punta Gorda, FL, sister, Linda Shaftic of New Castle, brother, Chester Smiley of Shenango Township, Pa., ten grandchildren and one great grandchild. In addition to her parents and husband, Mary is preceded in death by her son, Scott Francis Lynch and grandson, Scott Anthony Lynch.

A graveside service officiated by Fr. Brendan Dawson of Holy Spirit Parish will be held on Saturday at 11:30 am at St. Vitus Cemetery.
