Mary Ann Ginocchi, 86, formerly of West Englewood Avenue passed away the afternoon of June 1, 2020 at Jameson Place. Born on August 17, 1933 in Rochester, New York, she was the daughter of the late James and Fannie Ramicone DeGennaro. On August 31, 1957, Mary Ann married her beloved husband of sixty-three years, Jerry Ginocchi. He survives at home.
Mary Ann had attended St. Mary’s School of Nursing in Rochester, New York where she graduated as a Registered Nurse. When she moved to New Castle, she worked at St. Francis Hospital. Mary Ann later worked for the Visiting Nurses Association at Jameson Hospital.
Mary Ann was a member of Holy Spirit Parish, St. Camillus Site and their Ladies Guild.
Mary Ann was known for the Memory Bears she would make for the many people whose loved ones had passed away. She also enjoyed crocheting blankets and scarfs for church members and Hospice Patients.
A loving wife, mother and grandmother, she is survived by her husband and their children, Joe Ginocchi and his wife, Denise, Joan Conglose and her husband, Mike, John Ginocchi and his wife, Sharon, and Jean Scialabba and her husband, Randy, eight grandchildren, Michael Ginocchi, Jenna Copper (Mike), Mike Conglose (Brandi), John Conglose, Jerry Ginocchi, Jason Ginocchi, Krista Bland (Spencer), Randy Scialabba and four great-grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, Mary Ann was preceded in death by two brothers, James and Edward DeGennaro and her sister, Joan Fletcher.
Honoring the family’s wishes a Private Mass of Christian Burial will be held at Holy Spirit Parish, St. Vitus Site. Father Brendan Dawson will officiate. Entombment will be in Resurrection Mausoleum. Arrangements have been entrusted to the Ed & Don DeCarbo Funeral Home & Crematory, 941 South Mill St.
