Martin P. Shish, 73, of New Castle passed away the morning of March 15, 2020, at UPMC Presbyterian Hospital. Martin was born on Aug. 23, 1946, in New Castle. He was a son of the late Anton (Tony) and Mary (Henzel) Shish.
Mr. Shish was Roman Catholic. He retired after 34 years of service at the former St. Francis Hospital maintenance department as a painter. He was an avid outdoorsman, enjoying hunting and fishing. Martin enjoyed going to the casinos and liked all Pittsburgh sports teams, especially the Steelers. He was a member the K.P. Club for many years.
Martin is survived by his two brothers, Joseph B. (Mary Ann) Henzel of Williamsburg, Virginia, and John Shish of New Castle; and three sisters, Anna Fandozzi, Julia (Stephen) Colich and Amelia (Fred) Tanner, all of New Castle.
In addition to his parents, Martin was preceded in death by two half-brothers, Steven Shish and Julian Shish; and two brothers, Anthony Shish and Alexander Shish.
Visitation will be held from 4 to 7 p.m. on Wednesday, March 18, 2020, at the Noga Funeral Home Inc. 1142 S. Mill St. A Blessing Service will be held immediately following visitation at 7 p.m. at the funeral home. Deacon Daniel Kielar of Holy Spirit Parish will officiate. Burial will be in Madonna Cemetery.
