Marian Lucia (Pagley) Yerage passed away on July 9, 2020 surrounded by her family at Good Samaritan Hospice in Wexford, PA after a brief illness. Marian celebrated her 80th birthday on March 26.
Marian – Mom/Mare’/Mud/Meem/Grandma - was a lifelong resident of New Castle, PA
and a lifelong parishioner of Holy Spirit Parish, formerly St. Joseph the Worker. She retired from the Lawrence County Housing Authority in 2007. After retiring, Marian enjoyed spending time with her family and friends. She stayed active by volunteering at her church, which included working at the Fish Fry’s during the Lenten season and the Summer Festival at Holy Spirit Parish. Marian also volunteered at the voting precinct every November. She also kept busy as the treasurer of TOPS PA 0078, playing Mahjong at Challenges in New Castle and attending water aerobics at the New Castle YMCA.
Marian had a group of lifelong girlfriends called ‘club’ and they met every month for more than 40 years. During her time living at Lightner Greene, in Neshannock, she met a special group of friends where she enjoyed playing cards and general comradery. Marian also enjoyed visiting the casinos and any beach as often as she could!
Marian is survived by her three children, daughter, Rose Ann (Steve) Fee of Wampum, PA, son, Charlie (Heather) Yerage of Fox Chapel, PA and daughter, Sue (Todd) Evans of Columbus, Ohio. Her grandchildren, Lucia M. Fee of Wampum, Andrew J. (Lis) Fee of Grove City, Nathaniel C. Yerage of Fox Chapel, PA. Walker J. Evans and Sutton M. Evans of Columbus, Ohio. Also surviving is her sister-in-law, Sandi Yerage of New Castle, brother-in-law, Jerry Walsh of Placentia, CA, nephew James P. (Michelle) Walsh of Placentia, CA and her special great-nephew and great-niece, Jayden and Audrey Walsh. Nieces Kristin Yerage of New Castle, Karrah (JJ) Folk and great-nephew Kiptyn Folk of Sandusky, OH. She was also survived by special cousins, Rosemarie Cioppa, Sargie Hammond, Janet DiPaolo, as well as several other special cousins.
She was preceded in death by her parents, James F. and Martha M. (Mamajek) Pagley and her sister, Patricia L. Walsh.
Visitation will be on Wednesday, July 15, 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at the Ed & Don DeCarbo Funeral Home & Crematory, 941 South Mill St. Visitors are asked to adhere to CDC guide lines regarding wearing face masks and using social distancing. A procession will leave the funeral home on Thursday, July 16, at 11:00 a.m. for a
Mass of Christian Burial at Holy Spirit Parish, St. Vitus Church at 11:30 a.m. Father Brendan Dawson will officiate. Burial will be in St. Vitus Cemetery.
