Lawrence J. Cusurtrone, 99, of New Castle passed away the morning of June 16, 2020 at Clen-Moore Place. Born on May 3, 1921 in New Castle, he was the son of the late Carmen and Caroline Zona Cucitrone. On July 28, 1945, Larry married his beloved wife, the former Ann Pratt. She preceded him in death on March 7, 2001.
Larry had worked as a machinist for Rockwell International until he retired in 1985. He was a member of Holy Spirit Parish, St. Vitus site. He had served his country as a member of the United States Army during World War II. Larry enjoyed doing woodworking and reading. A loving father, grandfather and great-grandfather his greatest joy was the time he spent with his family.
Larry is survived by his children, Ralph Cucitrone (Linda) of Boardman, Ohio, Lauren Pickel of New Castle, two grandchildren, Gina Hall (Kevin), Anthony Cucitrone (Lourdes) and one great-grandchild, Adaline.
In addition to his parents and wife, Larry was preceded in death by his brothers, Carmen and Nunzio Cucitrone and two sisters, Philomena Graziani and Anna Alberico.
Visitation for family and friends will be on Friday 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. June 19 at the Ed & Don DeCarbo Funeral Home & Crematory, 941 South Mill St. Visitors are asked to adhere to CDC guide lines regarding wearing masks and using social distancing.
A Blessing Service will be held at the funeral home on Saturday, June 20, at 10:00 a.m. Father Anthony Sciarappa of Holy Spirit Parish will officiate. Entombment will be in Parkside Mausoleum.
