Julia Florence Bovo, 90, formerly of Shadyside Street, passed away the morning of April 7, 2020 at the Haven Convalescent Home. Born on February 17, 1930 in New Castle she was the daughter of the late Rinaldo and Elizabeth Scocchera Caimano. On May 9, 1953 Julia married her beloved husband, Phillip A. Bovo. He preceded her in death on July 20, 2005.
Julia had worked at St. Francis Hospital as a dietitian for many years before she retired. She was a member of Holy Spirit Parish, St. Vitus Site. Julie belonged to the St. Vitus Ladies Guild. She enjoyed cooking, baking and crocheting. Julia loved working in her garden. A loving mother and grandmother her greatest joy was the time she spent with her family.
Julia is survived by her daughter, Paula Stinson and her husband James, her son Anthony Bovo, all of New Castle, four grandchildren, Elizabeth and her husband Frank, Christopher and his wife Angela, Deidre, and A.J. and his wife Krista, three great-grandchildren, Isabella, Olivia and Giuliana, and her former daughter-in-law, Suzanne Bovo.
In addition to her parents and husband, Julia was preceded in death by her three brothers, Joseph, Domenick and Vincent Caimano and two sisters, Mary Liverani and Rose DeMarco.
Due to the current health crisis within our community, there will be a Memorial Mass held at a later date. Burial will be in St. Vitus Cemetery. Arrangements have been entrusted to the Ed & Don DeCarbo Funeral Home & Crematory, 941 South Mill St.
