Joan T. Parker, 83, of Union Township passed away the evening of July 21, 2020 at UPMC Jameson. Born on October 22, 1936 in Glens Falls, New York she was the daughter of the late Joseph Pollio and Jane Barud Pollio Cubellis. In October of 1954, Joan married her beloved husband, Herbert W. Parker. He preceded her in death on May 5, 1981.
Joan had worked as one of the original dough makers for Pizza Joes until she retired, after thirty-three years.
She was a member of Holy Spirit Parish. Joan was an avid reader. She loved watching old reruns on television of The Andy Griffith Show and her favorite soap operas. Joan enjoyed going out to eat. Her greatest joy was the time she spent with her family, especially her grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Joan is survived by her daughter, Debra Allebach and her husband, Rick, of New Castle, her brother, Robert Pollio and his wife, Janice, of New Castle, her sister, Dr. Marie A. Pavlicko of Struthers, Ohio, two grandchildren, Jennifer Baron and her husband James, Dr. Michael Allebach and his wife, Dr. Emma Allebach, four great-grandchildren, Emma Allebach, Reese Allebach, Adeline Baron and Alexander Baron.
In addition to her parents and husband, Joan was preceded in death by her brother, Joseph “Skip” Pollio, and her Step-Father, Albert Cubellis.
Due to the current health situation within our community, the family will hold a private visitation at the Ed & Don DeCarbo Funeral Home & Crematory, 941 South Mill St.
A private Mass of Christian Burial will also be held for the family at Holy Spirit Parish, St. Vitus Site. Father Anthony Sciarappa will officiate. Burial will be in St. Mary’s Cemetery.
