Jerry C. Ginocchi, 87, of New Castle, passed away the morning of November 22, 2020 at UPMC Jameson Place. Born on June 19, 1933 in New Castle, Jerry was the son of the late Carl “Cacky” and Nancy Fazzone Ginocchi. Preceding him in death on June 1, 2020, was his devoted wife of sixty three years, the former Mary Ann DeGennaro, whom he married on August 31, 1957.
Jerry was a member of Holy Spirit Parish, St. Camillus site. He served his country as a member of the U.S. Air Force during the Korean War Era while being stationed in Germany. Jerry worked as a law enforcement officer for twenty-five years, retiring as a Sergeant from the New Castle Police Department. After retirement, Jerry worked as a bailiff for Judge Glenn McCracken.
He enjoyed visiting casinos and playing bocce. In his earlier years, Jerry played baseball and coached the Youth Little League. He was a loving and devoted husband, father and grandfather who cherished the times surrounded by his family and friends.
Jerry is survived by his children, Joe Ginocchi and his wife, Denise, of Columbiana, OH, Joan Conglose and her husband, Mike, of New Castle, John Ginocchi and his wife, Sharon, of Pittsburgh, and Jean Scialabba and her husband, Randy, of New Castle; his brother, Joe Ginocchi and his wife, Anita, of New Castle, eight grandchildren, Michael Ginocchi, Jenna Copper (Mike), Mike Conglose (Brandi), John Conglose, Jerry Ginocchi, Jason Ginocchi, Krista Bland (Spencer), Randy Scialabba and five great-grandchildren.
Honoring the family’s wishes, a private Mass of Christian Burial will be held at Holy Spirit Parish, St. Camillus Church officiated by Rev. Father Anthony Sciarappa. Entombment will take place at Resurrection Mausoleum.
