Flora M. Volpe, 98, of Neshannock Township passed away the afternoon of February 21, 2021 at the Haven Convalescent Home. Born on August 23, 1922 in New Castle she was the daughter of the late Tony and Marietta Bucci Schepp. On October 25, 1947 Flora married her beloved husband, Albert E. Volpe. He preceded her in death on December 13, 1992.
Flora was a member of Holy Spirit Parish, St. Vitus site. Flora was an avid Bingo player. She enjoyed cooking for her family. A loving mother, grandmother and great grandmother Flora’s greatest joy was the time she spent with her family. Flora will always be remembered as the wonderful caregiver, well into her eighty’s, for her son Eugene until he passed away. She was also known as the family babysitter having helped with all of her grandchildren.
Flora is survived by her children, Marlene Pecoraro (Anthony), and Richard Volpe (Donna), all of New Castle, her brother, Ralph Schepp of Texas, three sisters, Jean Clause, Viola Zingaro and Edith Fazzone all of New Castle, five grandchildren, Marlea Marshall (Steve), Melody Schott (Brian), Meagan Marino (Matthew), Evan Volpe and Jared Volpe and his fiancé’, Julie Schneider, three great-grandchildren, Mackenzie Schott, Haley Marshall and Macy Marshall.
In addition to her parents and husband, Flora was preceded in death by her son, Eugene Volpe, her brother, Tony Schepp and sister, Irma Domenick.
A private Blessing Service will be held at the Ed & Don DeCarbo Funeral Home & Crematory, 3000 Wilmington Road. Father Joseph McCaffrey, Pastor of Holy Spirit Parish will officiate. Burial will be in St. Vitus Cemetery.
Lord God, you are attentive to the voice of our pleading. Give Flora eternal rest, O Lord, and may your light shine on her forever. Let us find in your Son comfort in our sadness, certainty in our doubt, and courage to live through this hour. Make our faith strong through Christ our Lord. Amen.
