Flora Golis, 97, of New Castle, passed away the morning of Oct. 18, 2020, at Clen-Moore Place. Flora was born June 30, 1923, in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. She was the daughter of the late Stephen and Rose (Rolek) Golis.
Flora was Roman Catholic and a member of Holy Spirit Parish, St. Vitus site. Flora was a graduate of Shenango High School, class of 1942. Ms. Golis retired in 1985 after 40 years of service as a buyer in the Purchasing Department at Penn Power in New Castle. Flora loved to go line dancing at the First Presbyterian Church and Challenges, where she also enjoyed ceramics. She enjoyed spending time with her family and friends and sewing for them.
Flora is survived by many loving cousins.
In addition to her grandparents and parents, Flora was preceded in death by her brother, Robert Golis.
Calling hours for family and close friends will be held from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. on Thursday, Oct. 22, 2020, at the Noga Funeral Home, Inc., 1142 S. Mill St., New Castle. The family and friends will then meet at Holy Spirit Parish, St. Vitus Church, where a Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m. The Rev. Anthony Sciarappa, parochial vicar of Holy Spirit Parish, will officiate. Burial will be in SS. Philip and James Cemetery. The family would like to thank Three Rivers Hospice and Clen-Moore Place for the special care given.
