Elizabeth Pfahles, 85, of New Castle passed away the afternoon of November 22, 2020 at Quality Life Services of New Castle. Born on December 14, 1934 in New Castle, she was the daughter of the late Alexander and Teresa Rotunno Dellaverson. In 1955, Elizabeth married her beloved husband, Phillip Pfahles, who preceded her in death.
Elizabeth had worked as a telephone operator. She was a member of Holy Spirit Parish, St. Mary’s Site. She was an avid Pittsburgh Steeler fan and enjoyed going to bingo.
Elizabeth is survived by her sister, Sandra B. Carbone and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents and husband, Elizabeth was preceded in death by one brother, James Dellaverson and one sister, Marie Ginocchi.
Visitation will be on Friday 9:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. at the Ed & Don DeCarbo Funeral Home & Crematory, 941 South Mill St. Visitors are required to adhere to CDC guidelines regarding the wearing of face masks and practicing social distancing. A Blessing Service will follow at the funeral home at 10:00 a.m. Seminarian Merv Knieriem of Holy Spirit Parish will officiate. Burial will be in St. Mary Cemetery.
Lord God, you are attentive to the voice of our pleading. Give Elizabeth eternal rest, O Lord, and may your light shine on her forever. Let us find in your Son comfort in our sadness, certainty in our doubt, and courage to live through this hour. Make our faith strong through Christ our Lord. Amen.
