Where did the summer go? As our children and teachers begin back to school and many vacations come to an end, we are all gearing up for another exciting time of work in progress! Although the summer is often viewed as a time for rest and relaxation, an enormous amount of work and progress has been going on since October 15 of 2018! See our new website at
www.hsplc.org to follow our progress in pictures. Under the Welcome tab on the website, look for Parish Life where you will find several albums of pictures from the October 15th joint Masses through our Holy Spirit Festival.
The coming together of seven parishes into one has been no small task. And with that monumental event many other tasks have been necessitated. One of the most important has been consolidating our work force. Interviews of all of our employees have taken place to understand exactly what jobs they were fulfilling. An analysis of what jobs we needed to fulfill as we move forward was also a major undertaking.
New job descriptions and interviews for these positions also had to take place. Some of our employees decided to take this opportunity to retire or to do something different. Others have chosen to stay on board and are enthusiastic about the future. It is my pleasure to introduce some of our new employees to you as we move forward.
One of the most important jobs we have put in place is the director of facilities and maintenance. It’s my pleasure to introduce Ted Burke, who will now take on that great responsibility. We will have some additional information about Ted and the duties for which he will be responsible in the coming bulletins.
Our next step then is to interview the other maintenance and cleaning positions that will be necessary. These interviews and decisions will take place in the next few weeks.
