Anthony L. Boazzo, 69, formerly of 1117 ½ Agnew St. passed away unexpectedly on Friday, December 13 at the Corner View Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Pittsburgh, Pa. Anthony was born on September 6, 1950, a son of Ida (Sandora) Boazzo and the late James (Jim) Boazzo.
He was a former member of Holy Spirit Parish, St. Vitus site. Anthony will be remembered as possessing a sense of humor that brightened the lives of his family and friends. He was quite the practical jokester. He was an avid baseball fan and possessed an exceptional mind with regards to baseball trivia. He enjoyed reading and taking long walks. Following graduation from New Castle Senior High School, he was employed by the United States Postal Service until his disability.
In addition to his mother, Anthony is survived by his three brothers, Joseph Boazzo and spouse, Janice (Piccuta) Boazzo of Cortland, OH, Leonard Boazzo and James (Jimmy) Boazzo, both of New Castle, three sisters, Michelina (Mickie) and husband Thomas Helbley of Brunswick, OH, Patricia Ann (Patty) and husband Walter Kilmer of Mechanicsburg, PA, Madelyn (Sally) Boazzo of Parma, OH. He will be sadly missed by five nieces, nine nephews, ten great nieces and nine great nephews.
In addition to his father, Anthony was preceded in death by his sister Mary Jo Gabriel and his nephew, Matthew.
Arrangements have been entrusted to the Ed & Don DeCarbo Funeral Home & Crematory, 941 South Mill St. A Mass of Christian Burial by Fr. Victor Molka will be held on Saturday, January 11, 2020 at 9:00 a.m. at Holy Spirit Parish, St. Vitus Church. Burial will be in St. Vitus Cemetery.
