Anthony J. Passalinqua, 88, of West Pittsburg passed way the morning of October 12, 2021 at UPMC Jameson. Born in New Castle on November 26, 1932, he was the son of the late Nicholas W. and Helen Ryan Passalinqua. Anthony is survived by his loving wife of sixty-four years, the former Isabelle Pasquarello.
Anthony had worked as a shop foreman and in engineering for Shaw Perkins Inc. He proudly served his country as a member of the United States Army. Anthony was a member of Holy Spirit Parish, St. Vitus site. In his younger days Anthony enjoyed going hunting and doing woodworking projects. A loving husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather Anthony’s greatest joy was the time he spent with his family.
In addition to his wife, Anthony is survived by his children, Marianne Johns of New Castle, Joseph Passalinqua (Lori) of Raleigh, NC, Nick Passalinqua (Christine) of Canton, OH, one sister, Deanna Rice of Riverside, CA, six grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
In addition to his parents, Anthony was preceded in death by his son, Anthony Passalinqua, Jr., two brothers, Robert and Ben Passalinqua and one sister, Locetta Colaluca.
Visitation will be on Friday 10:00 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. at the Ed & Don DeCarbo Funeral Home & Crematory, 941 South Mill St. The New Castle Area Honor Guard will perform Military Rites at the funeral home on Friday at 11:15 a.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday at 12:00 p.m. at Holy Spirit Parish, St. Vitus Church. Father Brendan Dawson will officiate. Burial will be in St. Vitus Cemetery.
Give Anthony eternal rest, O Lord, and may your light shine on him forever. Let us find in your Son comfort for our sadness, certainty in our doubt, and courage to live through this hour. Make our faith strong through Christ our Lord. Amen.
