Anthony “Tony” DiCarlo, 98, of New Castle passed away the morning of December 18, 2021 at UPMC Jameson. Born on August 5, 1923 in New Castle, Tony was the son of the late Domenick and Josephine DiVincentis DiCarlo. On November 16, 1946, Tony married his beloved wife, the former Ann M. Rossi. She preceded him in death on May 10, 2014.
Tony had worked as a salesman for seventy-eight years for Klafters Inc. He also owned and operated DiCarlo Vending from 1952 to 2017. He proudly served his country as member of the United States Army during World War II. Tony was a member of Holy Spirit Parish, St. Vitus site.
Tony loved music, especially Big Band. For many years, he played with a band as their lead singer and drummer. He was an avid bowler with the Eagles Club league and had bowled a 300 game. A loving father, grandfather and great-grandfather Tony’s greatest joy was the time he spent with his family.
Tony is survived by his children, Judy Temperato (Gary), Anthony DiCarlo (Linda) all of New Castle and his daughter-in-law, Debbie DiCarlo of Farrell, four grandchildren, Gary Temperato, Ryan Temperato, Tiffany Trover (Mike) and Ray DiCarlo, four great-grandchildren, Gianna, Tristan and Kendall Temperato and Brandon Trover.
In addition to his parents and wife, Tony was preceded in death by his son, Randy DiCarlo, four brothers, Benny, Carl, Raymond and Richard DiCarlo and one sister, Ann Medure.
Visitation will be on Tuesday 9:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. at the Ed & Don DeCarbo Funeral Home & Crematory, 941 South Mill St. A procession will leave the funeral home on Tuesday at 10:45 a.m. for a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 a.m. at Holy Spirit Parish, St. Vitus Church. Bishop David Bonnar of the Diocese of Youngstown is the celebrant and Fr. Ben Barr of Holy Spirit Parish is the concelebrant. Entombment will be in Parkside Mausoleum.
Eternal rest grant unto Tony, O Lord. Let perpetual light shine upon him. May his soul, and the souls of all the faithful departed, through the mercy of God, rest in peace. Amen.
