Anthony B. Spagnola, 87, of New Castle passed away the morning of July 1, 2020 at St. Elizabeth Hospital in Youngstown. Born on August 3, 1932 in Economy Boro, PA., Anthony was the son of the late Louis and Louise Princhinello Spagnola. Preceding him in death on May 13, 2020 was his loving wife, the former Patricia Ann Marshall, whom he married on April 30, 1955.
Anthony was a veteran of the U.S. Army and a
member of the Holy Spirit Parish. Anthony had worked as a general contractor as owner of Spagnola Construction. He enjoyed gardening, visiting casinos and music. Anthony cherished the times he spent with his family and grandchildren.
Anthony is survived by his daughter, Gwen Robinson and her husband, Jim, of Cleveland, OH, son-in-law, Gary Houk of New Castle, his brother, Bart Spagnola of Harmony, PA, his sister, Gloria Krepps of Freedom, PA, five grandchildren and eleven great-grandchildren.
In addition to his parents and wife, Anthony is preceded in death by his daughter, Denise Houk and his sisters, Flora Krepps and Mary Jane Havranek.
Visitation is Monday from 2 pm to 4 pm at the Ed and Don DeCarbo Funeral Home and Crematory, 941 S. Mill St. A Blessing Service will be held at the funeral home on Monday at 4pm officiated by their family friend, Father Michael Greb. Visitors are asked to adhere to state guidelines and are required to wear facial masks and practice social distancing. Entombment will take place at Parkside Cemetery and Mausoleum.
